Discover the worlds woven by words

Debanjana Mukherjee
I’m a storyteller at heart, weaving love stories that explore themes of second chances, multicultural romance, and the beautiful complexities of human connection. My background in engineering and nearly 20 years in a 9-5 didn’t hint at a future in writing, but life has a way of surprising us.
Outside of crafting novels, I cherish time with my loving husband, wonderful son, and our amazing dog, who fill my life with joy. I also run Scifun Academy, a YouTube channel where I create engaging science content for kids.
I’m passionate about creating heartfelt stories that resonate with readers, and I’d love to hear from you. Your support inspires me to keep dreaming and writing!
How I became an Author

I studied engineering and worked a steady 9-5 job for nearly 20 years of my life. I’ve been blessed with a good life—a loving husband, a wonderful son, and an amazing dog who bring endless joy to my days. I was content, balancing the rhythm of work and family.
Then, in June 2024, everything shifted. Bronchitis left me on sick leave from work for over a month. With so much unexpected free time, I found myself physically weak but mentally restless. My mind kept circling back to a story I’d carried for years, one that had quietly lingered in the background.
As a busy mom, I never had the time – nor the courage – to write. I mean, I’m just a regular working professional. What do I know about writing fiction? Why would anyone even read what I wrote? But with nothing to lose and plenty of time to spare, I asked myself: What if I tried? What would the opening scene be? What would be the first line?
I started small — first a paragraph, then a page, then a chapter. Before I knew it, 90,000 words had poured out of me, and I realized I was hooked. What began as a creative escape became something much more — a calling I hadn’t expected but deeply embraced.
Since then, writing has become an integral part of my life. It’s a journey I didn’t see coming but one I’m grateful to have embarked on.
